From Compliance to Impact

The 2027 Symposium will look beyond the fundamentals of asset management to explore how municipalities can turn asset management into a powerful tool for better decision-making and sustainable service delivery. 

Across two days, we’ll explore questions such as: 

  • How can municipalities build lasting internal asset management capacity? Learn how to use external expertise strategically while developing the knowledge, skills, and structures needed to sustain asset management in-house. 
  • How do we connect data, dollars and decisions? Explore the connections between asset management, long-term financial planning, organizational priorities, and the decisions that shape municipal services. 
  • What does future-ready infrastructure look like? Consider how municipalities can integrate climate resilience, adaptation, mitigation, and changing future demands into asset management and infrastructure decisions. 
  • How can technology reshape asset management? Discover emerging applications of AI, analytics, and digital decision-support tools, and what they could mean for the future of municipal asset management. 
  • What can municipalities learn from one another? Hear practical experiences from municipalities of different sizes and explore how organizations can overcome capacity constraints, collaborate, and build effective asset management practices. 

Two Days of Learning and Connection

April 14 | Half-Day: Workshops 

Get hands-on with interactive workshops designed to tackle real-world municipal asset management challenges. Participants will have opportunities to share experiences, work through challenges with their peers, and identify practical actions they can take back to their organizations. 

April 15 | Full-Day: Symposium 

Spend the day learning from municipal practitioners, industry experts, and thought leaders through engaging panels, keynote presentations, case studies, and discussions. With dedicated opportunities to connect with colleagues and visit exhibitors, the Symposium will be as much about sharing ideas and building relationships as it is about learning.
