Join us for Strengthening Municipal Road Programs: National Benchmarking Trends and Advanced Prioritization and Scenario Evaluations Tools for Roads AM Planning, a practical session designed to support municipal practitioners in advancing roads and transportation asset management planning. Drawing on six years of data from the Canadian Infrastructure Benchmarking Initiative (CIBI) and real-world municipal practice, this sponsored webinar will highlight national trends shaping road programs across Canada and the shared challenges municipalities are facing today, including aging infrastructure, rising construction costs, climate impacts, and increasing expectations for transparency and optimized investment.
Building on these national insights, the session will introduce modern, applied approaches to strengthen roads asset management planning. Participants will explore prioritization frameworks that integrate condition, levels of service, risk, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment to support defensible and transparent capital decision-making. The webinar will also demonstrate scenario evaluation models that help municipalities assess funding trade-offs, determine optimized investment levels, and understand long-term impacts on service levels and risk exposure.
The session will feature case studies from municipalities such as Ottawa, alongside broader insights from CIBI benchmarking participants across Canada. These examples will illustrate how advances in analytics, including Python-enabled Power BI lifecycle models, risk-informed prioritization tools, and funding scenario evaluation frameworks, are supporting more dynamic, data-driven decision-making within municipal organizations.
This webinar is intended for asset managers, roads and transportation professionals, planners, finance staff, and other municipal practitioners looking to strengthen asset management planning practices. While the case studies focus on roads, the approaches and tools discussed are broadly applicable across asset classes and can be adapted to support improved program outcomes and long-term decision-making.
