The Green Infrastructure Champions Program, in partnership with Asset Management Ontario (AMONTario) and the Town of Caledon, is hosting a one-day workshop for Ontario municipalities.

Theme: Green Infrastructure Asset Management

Studies have shown that Natural features, or Natural Assets, provide a suite of benefits including recreation, health and well-being, stormwater management, carbon sequestration, air quality regulation, water supply, habitat restoration, etc. These natural features fall under municipal jurisdiction and need a way to be accounted for in Asset Management Planning.

The Green Infrastructure Champions Program, in partnership with Asset Management Ontario (AMONTario) and the Town of Caledon, is hosting a one-day workshop for Ontario municipalities to explore the following objectives:

Objectives

  • Learn from local experts experienced in Green Infrastructure (Natural Asset) Asset Management Planning, Monitoring and Valuation.
  • Learn how green infrastructure (GI) and natural asset management practices support stormwater risk reduction and resiliency effort
  • Learn about the Green Infrastructure Champions Program and opportunities to receive technical assistance through mentoring network and mini-grant program.

Registration is free for municipal employees, made possible by the generous support of the Erb Family Foundation and Great Lakes Commission. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided as part of the workshop.
