Templates & Resources

Asset Management Ontario, in collaboration with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), developed a set of free, excel-based templates to support municipalities in improving their asset management capabilities. Municipalities can use these resources and accompanying overviews and tip sheets to establish asset hierarchies, identify data gaps, set levels of service, and apply risk assessments to identify local infrastructure investment priorities and develop financial strategies that will inform Council decision-making.
This initiative was funded by the Municipal Asset Management Program, which was delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and funded by the Government of Canada.

New Resource! Simplified Levels of Service Toolkit
The simplified Levels of Service (LOS) Toolkit has been developed to support municipalities that are early in their asset management journey. This toolkit will support users in identifying and documenting current and proposed LOS and performance targets, in compliance with Ontario’s Asset Management Planning for Municipal Infrastructure regulation (O.Reg.588/17).

This toolkit is a complement to our more detailed, class specific LOS Toolkits, which are available upon request.
Because facilities are particularly complex, a separate Simplified Toolkit has been created specifically for Facilities.
Parks are also complex assets that include both built assets and green infrastructure assets (including natural assets). Our newest toolkit is designed specifically to support municipalities in identifying and documenting current and proposed LOS for their parks assets.
